This set is one of those things you probably never thought you really needed, but when you finally do own a proper carving knife and fork, it’s SUCH a pleasure to use and you’ll be glad you own it. It makes carving your roast or turkey or chicken (or tofurkey) much easier and more pleasant than trying to make do with a table fork and chef knife. And of course the carving knife is useful for many other jobs including slicing meats and fruit and just about anything else (some people even like to use a carving knife as an all-purpose kitchen knife instead of a chef knife or santoku).
